About the Project
A friend had been curating a list of soldier's addresses from Winnipeg that had died in WWI. The data was in raw CSV format and he was looking to get it online.
At the same time I was looking fors opportunity to create something that showcased my abilities from back-end development to front-end and design. This site was the perfect opportunity for both of us.
Everything was created from scratch, the data is fed using custom REST APIs using the Laravel PHP framework. Front-end is powered using the Vue JavaScript framework and leverages Google maps and a clustering library. Lastly the design was custom created and tailored with sensitivity to the subject matter.
